Everyday Life With Cerebral Palsy Part ||, OUT NOW!!
Originally from Fort McMurray, Alberta. Joseph moved to St.John’s Newfoundland at four months old. He was born with a disability called Cerebral Palsy. This disability however does not keep him back. Joseph graduated from O'Donel High in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland, where he excelled in all academic subjects. Now he continues his studies at Memorial University of Newfoundland.
Joseph had many challenges in his life. He does not believe that having a disability means that he is limited to what he can do. He has proven that he can do anything that everybody else can do. He accepted his disability and has embraced it fully.
During the pandemic Joseph learned to play a sport called Boccia. He is unable to play with his hands so he developed a way to play boccia with his feet and he practiced almost four times every week. With a lot of practice, Joseph became good at this sport and went to Ottawa to compete in the 2024 Canadian Championships, where he placed 5th in individuals and 4th in teams. Joseph turned many heads in Ottawa and was invited to be a member of the Boccia Canada Espoir Team. A year later at the 2025 Canadian Championship he won gold in individuals and bronze in teams. Joseph became the Canadian Champion in his classification BC1. He had since represented Canada in multiple international competitions and Newfoundland & Labrador in multiple national competitions.
He continues to try his best and keep proving he can do anything that able bodies people can do.
